New Activated-Carbon Composite Media in Production, Custom Sizes Available

In late May, a new activated-carbon composite media entered mass production and general sale. It combines a meltblown layer with an activated-carbon fibre layer by heat pressing, targeting the commercial and residential air purifier market.

Product Features

The product balances bonding strength against carbon loading. The meltblown layer handles particulate filtration while the activated-carbon fibre layer adsorbs gaseous pollutants; heat pressing avoids adhesive odour. In-house tests show cumulative formaldehyde adsorption about 20% higher than the previous generation, stable adsorption of toluene and other TVOCs, and low overall resistance.

Grammage, web width and finished size are customisable. Standard width ranges from 100mm to 1600mm, and grammage can be adjusted to meet target resistance and service life. First orders have been delivered for domestic commercial air-handling units and some export purifier models.

Capacity and Stock

The composite line was converted from existing equipment, starting at about 300,000 square metres per month with room to expand. Common specifications are kept in stock; customers can contact sales for samples and test reports before validation runs.
